Just in time for Valentine’s Day, you can access Rick Springfield’s “Orchestrating My Life” documentary via PPV starting at 3pm PT/6pm ET. The movie will be available for 3 days. Go to rickspringfieldmerch.com to purchase a ticket.
The film chronicles Rick’s journey reimagining his hits with a more classical style. Part of this adventure includes a March 2019 concert with the Santa Monica High School Orchestra playing said hits. Not sure “playing” is the right verb. Whatever you call it when string and wind instruments rock out.
What at first might seem like an unlikely pairing was a delightful combo of talented rock star and up and coming musicians.
I was lucky enough to have been in the audience for the “Orchestrating My Life” concert and at the film screening almost a year later at the high school.
For the “Orchestrating My Life” show I had super far away seats, way up in the balcony. But I could still hear the music, hear Rick, and appreciate the orchestra.
Here’s one photo from the show, I wasn’t joking when I said my seats were farrrrr away.
Being in attendance for “Orchestrating My Life” was awesome. I’ve seen Rick many, many times over the years so the new twist on the old favorites was fun. The documentary shows parts from this concert as well as interviews and insights from Rick. Check it out!
