Bon Jovi at the i Heart Radio Music Festival
The i Heart Radio Music Festival concludes it’s two-night event starting at 8/7c tonight on the CW network.
Lineup for the show includes Alicia Keys, BTS, Coldplay, Kane Brown, Keith Urban, Migos, Miley Cyrus, Usher and, of course, Bon Jovi.
Bon Jovi’s set includes “Lost Highway,” “It’s My Life” and new songs from their upcoming album 2020: “Limitless” and “Do What You Can,” a duet with Jennifer Nettles. Also featured was “You Give Love a Bad Name” (we’re nosy and still want to know who that song is about). The boys finished with the always a good closer and best karaoke song ever (a compliment), “Livin’ on a Prayer.”
If you assume by the titles that the new songs are inspirational tunes for our world, you’d be right. Jon Bon Jovi told Rolling Stone “Do What You Can” is about the pandemic, the name taken from an Instagram image of him washing dishes at his restaurant. “Limitless” has the following lyrics: “Trying to keep your head above water” and “Step out off the edge, it’s worth the risk, life is limitless, limitless.”
It’s no surprise Bon Jovi would take our COVID-19 situation and turn it into encouraging lyrics, just look at their history of upbeat words in “It’s My Life” (“I just want to live while I’m alive”), “Bounce” (“Nothing’s gonna keep me down) and “Livin’ on a Prayer” (you know the lyrics).
We’re anticipating that i Heart Radio will make this concert available online or streaming in the near future, so stay tuned.
